FOUNDER PETER CURTIS
PMC Group I, LLC
From the beginning of my career, I observed numerous near misses in mission-critical environments, events where safety, reliability, and operational discipline made the difference between success and failure.
Those experiences ultimately led to the founding of PMC Group I and the development of our SmartSOLUTIONS™ platform, which captures decades of operational insight and transforms it into practical tools for the next generation of infrastructure professionals.

My motivation has always been simple: keep the systems that power society running safely and reliably.
The data center industry is scaling faster than its workforce, its governance models, and its operational visibility. We're building AI campuses at a pace the world has never seen — but the people running them still rely on spreadsheets, tribal knowledge, and hope. That gap is what PMC was built to close.
Lessons in process, discipline, and business operations
Developing a mission-critical mindset
Preparation and procedures prevent failure.
The life-critical importance of reliability
When lives depend on reliability, procedures are not optional.
Near misses revealed what was missing
Capturing operational knowledge is essential to reducing risk.
How real-world failures shaped the mission
Surmounting global grid and security threats
Facilities must be designed for continuous 24/7 operation under adverse conditions.
The personal cost of safety
Those experiences ultimately led to the founding of PMC Group I and the development of our SmartSOLUTIONS™ platform, which captures decades of operational insight and transforms it into practical tools for the next generation of infrastructure professionals.
From Visibility to Execution
Infrastructure compromise must be designed against
Adapting to global disruptions
Powering the intelligence revolution
As we scale to meet the massive demands of AI and hyperscale data centers, the complexity of our infrastructure is rapidly outpacing traditional human management. The future will not be won by those with the best hardware, but by those who can digitize tacit knowledge into real-time operational intelligence.

FOUNDING
PMC Group was founded to help organizations reduce operational risk, improve knowledge transfer, improve safety/reliability, and support the infrastructure that keeps society running. Our work spans data centers, energy systems, healthcare, and other mission-critical facilities.
Founder Statement
I've spent my career inside mission critical facilities from Wall Street trading floors to hyperscale data centers and the failure pattern is always the same. It's not the equipment that fails. It's the knowledge that never got transferred, the procedure that never got followed, and the warning signs that nobody was trained to recognize. I built SmartSOLUTIONS™ to solve that problem not by replacing the technology our clients already trust, but by closing the gap between what their systems were designed to do and what actually happens on the floor. Every product we've created lives at the intersection of the human and the machine, because that's where operational risk lives, and that's where resilience is built.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM & ORGANIC TALENT SCALING
A Lasting Industry Legacy: Over PMC's nearly three-decade history, the company has maintained one of the mission-critical industry's most distinctive organic talent pipelines — a structured internship program that has introduced hundreds of emerging engineers and technologists to the theory and practice of mission-critical infrastructure operations. This program is both a workforce development contribution to the industry and a highly cost-effective, self-reinforcing mechanism for scaling PMC's own team and client delivery capabilities.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
PMC's internship program draws from an intentionally diverse talent pool — spanning Ivy League universities, state engineering programs, community colleges, and international trade schools across NA, LATAM, EMEA, and MENA. This breadth reflects PMC's belief that mission-critical expertise is not the exclusive domain of elite institutions, and that the industry's greatest talent gap will be filled by practitioners trained hands-on, in real operational environments, under the mentorship of experienced engineers.

Interns work directly within PMC's consulting and technology teams — participating in live commissioning programs, Method of Procedure (MOP)and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development, SmartWALK® field deployments, SmartTEAM™ content development, and Agentic AI platform testing. They leave with both technical skills and an understanding of how PMC's integrated platform ecosystem connects knowledge transfer, operational technology, and enterprise AI.

VISION FOR THE INDUSTRY
The future of mission-critical infrastructure will require:
MOTIVATION
MY MOTIVATION IS SIMPLE:

PRESERVING WHAT EXPERTS KNOW BEFORE IT'S GONE
The mission-critical industry is losing decades of hard-won expertise as its most experienced engineers retire. I'm driven to capture, codify, and transfer that knowledge so it lives on in systems, not just in people's heads.

SOLVING THE HUMAN SIDE OF DOWNTIME
65% of mission critical downtime traces back to human error — not equipment failure. Everything I build is aimed at giving the people on the floor the right information, the right training, and the right tools to prevent the mistakes that take facilities offline.

MAKING EXISTING TECHNOLOGY WORK THE WAY IT WAS INTENDED
I didn't set out to replace anyone's controls, BMS, or CMMS. I set out to close the operational gap that none of them were designed to address — where procedures, situational awareness, and human execution determine whether a facility runs or fails.

TURNING FIELD EXPERTISE INTO SCALABLE TECHNOLOGY
After spending decades inside trading floors, data centers, and defense facilities, I've spent the last 20+ years turning that operational knowledge into patented, repeatable technology that delivers consistent results regardless of who's on shift.

PROTECTING THE INFRASTRUCTURE THE WORLD DEPENDS ON
Data centers keep hospitals running, financial markets trading, and entire economies functioning. The people who operate these facilities deserve better tools, better training, and better technology — and building that is what gets me out of bed every morning.
